haha, nice pinches, you get that tone with your ninja or your 5150?

Haha thanks man. You're gonna laugh but that was recorded with my Micro Cube! I'm up at college right now so I couldn't haul the beasts along. They get vicious pinches as well though! But yeah both things on my profile were my micro cube on the rectifier setting.

so would you play the same notes that you do on the high b?

Almost, but this way if you were to play a run based in C for example, then you would get that extra octave involved in there. Or it is possible to use the low string to start at different notes in the scale.

So if you wanted to hit a Gmajor scale, it is possible to start from the dominant note, the 5th degree which is D, and start the scale like that or something.

yea, im not good with scales, so how would i find scales that include the seventh string?

In relation to the low string, i normally use it as a quick position shift or adding extra lower octaves into the scale structure. For example you can extend a simple E pentatonic starting from the 5th fret low B string, giving you a few extra notes and more scope to play about with.

I would say you should get some nice reverb and delay. This will just sweeten up your clean tone, and add them to your solo boost and it will be kick-ass. dimebag used a chorus pedal live to thicken his sound (on record he double tracked everything, obviously you cant do that live). so you might want to consider that. just buy one at a time, and get used to how it works and what settings you like most, then add another pedal into the mix. most importantly, experiment with them, and experiment the order which you put them in your chain, this can dramatically affect the sound.

i hope i have been of some help :)

Hey if you are looking to expand your pedal board, i would advise not cutting corners. You have a pretty decent amp by the sounds of it, which is where most of your tone is coming from, and you should have a good distortion tone from it already without having to use an overdrive pedal. You can use a distortion pedal with the distortion chanel from your amp, if the pedals gain is set low. it will act as a boost and will alter your amps tone, which is cool for soloing. (Zakk wylde does this with his MXR Zack Wylde overdrive pedal, into his overdriven marshalls.) i would advise spending as much money as you can on one pedal, as apposed to buying a few shit ones. youll end up hating them and replacing them after a while anyways, so you might aswell buy good ones now.

Dude, I only got a mp3 to record that makes it an mp3, I've tried twice to get a good recording, but they both sound BAD. I'll work on it though.
