Died in 1986 and was incredibly influential. Check out the track (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth by Metallica of the Kill em' All Album. 4 minute bass solo that puts experienced shredders to shame.

Wow, I just listened to that! That's awesome! I've played bass in pep band before, and I have to say that's some serious talent, it's not as easy as a lot of people think it is.
