I've been playing the guitar since 1999 and I still havent managed to stick with a band...
I never got any lessons on the electric guitar (by choice), which I found to be rewarding, since I developed two very useful techinques that are unique (you wont find them in any guide book and probably wont find anyone using them). I'm still trying to blend them into my sound, with mixed results.
My ultimate goal (for now) is to develop the "harmonic sweeping". That is sweeping with harmonics (yes, it is possible).
