I come from a guitar family. My dad played guitar since he was eleven and was amazing, and had been in several working bands over the decades. My dad passed away in November 2012 to cancer, and aside from thanking him every day for the natural raw talent I inherited, I credit him as my biggest inspiration. Everything that I do when I play is to keep his dream alive.
I played "lead guitar" in my first band when I was in the fifth grade on a guitar that I borrowed from my dad's collection when he was out of town (he was a pilot and gigging and not around all that much)... although "played" is sort of open to interpretation.... I more just made noises I thought sounded cool. Started learning actual songs in middle school, and have been playing pretty much since, aside from a hiatus during the college years when I was just entirely too drunk to do much of anything productive.
I like playing mostly lead electric, but I also have a love for anything finger style and old flamenco style acoustic. Give me the 70s and 80s any day. Oh yeah, and I own a tattoo studio.
Current Guitar Count: 17
