Got into music collage So far it's been epic, the theory and piss easy songs we have to learn i've already done so that side is fine, but the software side i hadn't really done before... well, i'd dabbled in Audacity and looked at Reason but that was about it.
New computer is awesome (quad core, 4Gb RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 graphics card), but to use my Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity sound card i'll need Windows 7 when i have money as there is no driver for XP.

Band side of things, starting a new one with a bassist at music collage and the second guitarist from Xenocracy (we're also keeping the same band name) and we're gonna stick up a couple of adverts in music shops for a drummer and vocalist.

I'll soon be getting a 16 dual-track mixing desk which i cant wait to get and i cant remember if the guy said the mixing desk was a Behringer or if i was getting a desk and something else by Behringer.

That's about it, not been busking in ages since it's started to rain now, and the old drummer did get into uni. Songs not done yet, no means of recording until i can use my Sure SM-57.

You said you needed some metal songs so i'll post some here.

Tornado of souls - might struggle with the solo, but you could just play the rythm which is btw awesome
Cowboys from hell - Solo not as hard on this one and a good way to get your soloing up. Difficult riffing.
Domination - Craazy pantera song, once again in standard. Don't attempt the solo unless your willing to spend six hours a day practicing it.

Anything by Paul Gilbert. (Very metally rhythms, and his songs arent just solos all the way through.. most of them only contain one solo)
Any Joe Satriani
Steve Vai - Bad Horse (AWESOME RIFF, you get to use a slide.. dont attempt the solo, just dont)
Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train and No more Tears
Holy Wars
Lucretia
SKIN o' MY TEETH (MOST AWESOME METAL RIFF AND SOLO IN STANDARD EVA)

and im sure thatll keep you going :D
