Death Magnetic: 1. That Was Just Your Life 2. The End Of The Line 3. Broken, Beat & Scarred 4. The Day That Never Comes 5. All Nightmare Long 6. Cyanide 7. The Unforgiven III 8. The Judas Kiss 9. Suicide & Redemption 10.My Apocalypse
so this is it, the titles of what we've long been waiting for.. if you ask me I think some titles are kinda long, still quite cool though,
in
the video from July 4 Lars and a guy from the studio are mixing a solo by
Kirk.. First I will give the tabs of all separate parts that are played in the
video.. then I will give you my impression of the solo. So lets get rollin'!
#5
e|----------------------------------------------- -|
B|-9--------------------------------------------- -|
G|-10---and then you get riff mentioned at #1-----|
D|--^-------------------------------------------- -|
A|--|-------------------------------------------- -|
E|--|-------------------------------------------- -|
{strum this a few times, listen to the vid for the rhythm, its very easy.}
now I will show you how I think (seeing the pieces given to us in the video)
the solo will be like on the record:
e|----------------------------------------------- -|
B|-9--------------------------------------------- -|
G|-10---and then you get riff mentioned at #1-----|
D|--^-------------------------------------------- -|
A|--|-------------------------------------------- -|
E|--|-------------------------------------------- -|
{strum this a few times, listen to the vid for the rhythm, its very easy.}
it takes some time figuring out the fingering, so I'll try and enlighten it a
bit more:
make sure your first (index) finger stays put on the second on the A-string
(fifth string). From there on let your fingers form an open D major chord, now
lift your middle finger and ring finger one string higher so they rest on D2
and A3. it'll be as follows:
index finger: A2
middle finger: D2
ring finger: A3
now you just lift your middle and ring finger when necessary.
I hope this little explanation helped, if not please comment and I'll try n
help you out further..
have fun with it! once again, please comment/subscribe and tell me what you
think.. I'd be glad to hear your opinions
a new one, finally.. the june 21 fly on the wall gives another riff away. there is some discussion about the beat though.
e|---------------------|
B|---------------------|
G|---------------------| repeated a couple of times
D|-~-8-3---4-5--4-5----| A|---6-1---2-3--2-3----|
E|-0-----0-------------|
so this is it, have fun. Please comment on if you think this should be played fast or slow and what you think about its heavyness.
Personally I think this should be played a bit slower than in the vid. Tell me what you think
in the fly-on-the-wall video posted on
the 16th of june no (clear) guitar riffs are to be heard, this gives me some
time to catch up with them as I had some riffs still not tabbed out yet. So
here are a few good-old riffs from (very) early videos.
I'll start of with the 'bow down'-riff, the lyrics are:
bow down
sell your soul to me
I will set you free
e|----------------------------|
B|----------------------------|
G|----------------------------|
D|-9-9/10-10-10-----7/9-9-----| x 2
A|-7-7/-8--8--8-(0)-5/7-7-----|
E|----------------------------|
a little doodle played by kirk, seems
(some sort of) an outro solo.
e|---------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------|
G|-------12-------12--14p12--12-14p12----12----|
D|-14-14----14-14----------14---------14-------| repeated a few times
A|---------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------|
then there also is this ‘the new song’
riff that comes back in the videos:
you can clearly hear Kirk doing this
lick with his wah over it:
e|-------------------7-6-5---|
B|-----------7---7-9---------|
G|-8-6-7-8-8---8-------------|
D|---------------------------| repeated a few times
A|---------------------------|
E|---------------------------|
Then you hear a rhythm riff from the
same song:
C#|--------------------------------|
G#|--------------------------------|
E |--------------------------------|
B |-----------------------7-6-5----| repeated a few times
F#|-4-4-4-2-4--4-4-4-2-4--5-4-3----|
C#|-2-2-2-0-2--2-2-2-0-2-----------|
This was it for now, I hope you have fun
playing it, I did anyways..
Please comment if you hava anything to
say, I’d be glad to hear it. Also, if you want to be the first to have the next
tabs, please subscribe
Crunch City, Hetfield plays this riff in the video posted on the 15th of June.
The tuning is open C, but you can just as easy only lower your (standard) E and A, the riff does not include any other strings.
C#|----------------------------------| G#|----------------------------------| E |----------------------------------| B |----------------------------------| F#|-4/5-5----5----5-2-2----5-2-4-5-2-| C#|-2/3-3-00-3-00-3-0-0-00-3-0-2-3-0-| PM_______
C#|------------------------------| G#|------------------------------| E |------------------------------| B |------------------------------| F#|-5----5----5-2-2----5-2-4-5-2-| C#|-3-00-3-00-3-0-0-00-3-0-2-3-0-| PM_______ have fun with it!
have anything to say? know some riffs I have forgotten to tab? Please comment/subscribe, more will be to come!
