Two years ago I walked away from a job most musicians would kill for: a gig at Berklee College of Music where I was a professor for five years. Why? It was time to move on and I haven't stopped since. Since then I've produced 10 DVDs for TrueFire (see below for some examples), finished my first text book for Cengage on recording with Pro Tools and M-Audio gear (the latter of which hand picked me to do it) and continued from there writing two more on sound reinforcement and building a home and mobile studio with Ableton Live respectively; and joined forces with Karsh Kale - one of today's leading electronic producers - to play in his touring band. In-between there's been pedal videos and sound file production for boutique pedal companies like Source Audio, Pigtronix and WMD; NAMM performances, hittin' the NY scene again with some bad-ASS people and hunkering down to put out a pair of my own releases in 2011.
Oh yeah, I finally made a new website come to life: ChrisBuono.com. You can go there to see the 'official' stuff including a real-deal bio, links to my TrueFire DVDs and Amazon aStore where you can buy my books as well as get hipped to my recommendations. Most importantly, you can go there to check out music. I've played on a few great CDs by artists ranging from Graham Haynes to Dave Martone. For a listen and some fun reading, go to my Discography page. I tweet when I can and there's a good thing going on up there in Facebook land. I still don't have a MySpace page and I never will, but I'm alive and well on YouTube. In fact, if you go to my favorites section you can see pretty much every video my ugly ass appears in that resides up there. To date, that mug has been viewed over 584,000 times.
What am I doing here? A few years back there was some great ideas thrown around by myself and the people behind UG. What can I say? We tried and some things happened and some things didn't. What did happen were a trio of very cool interviews with my buds from Shadows Fall in a series called "In the Element." You can see them here, here and here. What could have happened was some more shit like that, but... No matter what came up of it all I've always poked my head in to answer questions about all things guitar for you guys and will continue to do so. If you want to take it to the next level I do Skype lessons. I've had students as far as Japan, Turkey, Holland, Thailand, England and across the US. Interested? Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, I will be announcing some seriously cool news soon about taking the concept of on-line lessons to a whole new level!
Before I let you go, below are a pair of video examples taken from my TrueFire DVDs that are out now and up for grabs on my site. Hope you dig.
