Bill Bailey: Entertainment God

Current mood: hopeful

Just finished watching the Bill Bailey box-set. Absoloutley hilarious, especially 'Part Troll'. I would recommend it to anyone. Not ony a talented comedian but a brilliant musician with a good voice, so I propose this; how would people like a Bill Bailey album? In my opinion, it would be hilarious and amazing (if it included his own love song about betrayl). Seriously, he's a good singer and plays guitar and keyboard incredibly well. All thats left would be a drummer but not necessarily. Damn, I'm all excited now. I doubt it will happen but I have my fingers crossed that it does!

What to play... What to play...

Current mood: confused

As the title may suggest, I am at a loss for what to learn in my spare time. In my lessons, I am learning finger-tapping (Eruption), alternate picking (Thuderstruck) and Crazy Train. I just can't find any tabs that are a)easy enough, b)good enough or c)good songs. I know that they are out there, I just can't find them.

Help me win over my bandmate's poor music tastes.

Current mood: frustrated

Deary me. Me and my friend Callum just had a huge discussion; Slipknot or Oasis (I was arguing for Slipknot)? I know the answer from most of the sensible people. It is a matter of opinion. I know and respect that. However, my friend does not. He is stoic in the misconception that Oasis are superior in every aspect. I agree that, during the mid-ninteys-or-so, they made some very good music. Stuff like Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova hold a dear place in my heart. However, I have moved on, in all senses of the term. Slipknot are easily one of the biggest bands on the metal scene today, overshadowed only by Metallica. To say that none of them are talented in any way is just plain wrong. Let me just get you up to speed: my favorite guitarist is Slash, followed by Kirk Hammet and Mick Thompson; singers are Axl Rose, Steven Tyler and James Hetfield; drummers are Joey Jordison followed closely by Lars Ulrich and Adrian Erlandsson and finally bassists are the late Cliff Burton, the late John Entwhistle and Duff Mckagan. Callum's favourite guitarist? Noel Gallagher. Thats it. Singer? You guessed it, Liam Gallagher. Drummer? Doesn't know any drummers. Bassists? The one from Mcfly. See what I mean? Callum is an amazing musician but his taste is well below par. So anyway, back to the point. He says that Slipknot have nowhere near as many fans as Oasis. I intend to prove him wrong. For the comments, post the band name of either Slipknot or Oasis as to which is your favourite. As we are English, we (well I) need American backup (much as in Iraq/Afganistan. Yes. We are the Puppet Masters). So , please, help me. Thank you in advance.
