So as to not give away enough information for my identity to be stolen, I will start this with the point in my life pertaining to the subject of this site. My father was a great bassist and an average guitarist. When I was very young, my father taught me a few simple songs on his dingy brown 1979 Gibson "The Paul." This went off and on until around 2001, when it was time for me to get my own guitar.
My dad decided that to buy me a Squier Affinity Stratocaster in black along with a Marshall MG15CDS amp. I played other day to begin, then quickly progressed to every day for several years.
Eventually, I got tired of guitar and my father allowed me to play on his bass. A vintage blonde Rickenbacker 4003 bass with the string guard removed. I learned that, somehow, I was instinctively better at bass, but I did not enjoy playing it in front of other people. Playing bass made me feel relaxed and intoxicated. To this day I don't perform bass in front of other people (unless specifically asked to by a band). It's a very personal experience.
In 2007, I purchased a Seagull Original S6 and now play acoustic guitar almost exclusively for songwriting.
