This is a clone of a 1958 Fender Champ (5W, s/e class A, 6V6, 12AX7) built into a biscuit tin for the iconicly Australian Tim Tams.
I built it using point to point wiring, Mojo Transformers from Chicago, Sprague capacitors in the signal path and TAD caps for power filters.
I run it through a 1x12" box and it sounds like an old Fender.

Yeah, it is tiny. Just big enough to fit it all.

Vegemite OD huh? Shame that doesn't come in tins or I'd do it. :)

would love to give something like this a go :)
Any type of sites that do a walk through of something like this or did you just do it yourself?

I just did it myself working from the schematic.

That little box looks frekin sweet!
How much did the parts cost? Would you recommend this project for a beginner?

Cost about $200 give or take. As amps go the Champ is probably the best beginner's amp there is. However, building it into a cookie tin is about 10x harder than into a traditional chassis. I wouldn't recommend building a tube amp into a cookie tin unless you are fairly experienced.

Nice build. Do you have any clips of it?
