What's wrong with Slipknot?

Current mood: curious

Now, I'm not a "maggot", but I wanted to share this message with the public. What do you think of them? What's bad? What's good? I'm a pure metal fan, in and out, around, under and over it. I find Slipknot heavy, catchy, brutal, but yes, some of their shit is annoying. But I just wanted everyone else's thoughts. Let's discuss their image. I find Corey Taylor to be a great, unique singer, and writes very raw, disturbing, and sometimes bad-ass lyrics. His image I may not like. But I think Slipknot is a band based partly on image. Yes, their early stuff is classified as "nu-metal". However, I do not think of that term when I hear tracks like "Duality", "Before I Forget" and "Psychosocial". As a metal fan, I'm never IMMEDIATELY worried or interested in the vocals or lyrics. This is where Mick Thomson comes in. He has a unique image, as does the band himself. He can shred. He can deliver pounding riffs alongside Jim Root, who is also not a bad player. Then Joey Jordison. He's one awesome drummer. The music is powerful, heavy, decently talented and actually kind of interesting. Although, the turntables are unneeded in my opinion. Anyway, I think I'm done ranting. :wtf: Give me your thoughts.
