As time sweeps towards the summer, arrangements for this summer's album are slowly starting to fall into place.
There are a few developments I'd like to share.
.) None of the songs from "Soundtrack for a New Age" or "Mystery of the Opium Laced Yoghurt" will be featured. Those albums are in progress and I'm not interested in submitting incomplete works to my serious discography. The forthcoming album will tie up the punk years and showcase that era, despite the fact that I had Hiroshima written before I picked up a guitar.
.) A tentative release date is September 11th, 2008. Various demos will probably be posted over the summer, although they will not represent the quality of the final product.
.) All tracks published on the internet will not represent the quality of the final product, which will be released for paid download (likely £0.40 per track) and possibly mail order to those in the United Kingdom for marginally more (£6 for the album)
.) The album will be followed with promotional videos and a string of acoustic gigs. The idea of a Johnny Skullfuck promotional tour with backing band the Nuns' Clunges is very unlikely, but not moot.
.) I hope that I can make a few quid at the least (and at the most) from the album, as I will be skint as fuck next year and can use the pocket money. I may also cut deals with ROW labels to distribute copies of the album. Obviously I'm not expecting to get rich, but I'd be very pleased indeed to see a modicum of income.
.) Johnny Skullfuck - Greatest Hits will be near-studio quality. It may feature special guests on instrumentation and mixing duty.
.) Tracklisting is still unconfirmed, and greatest hits is only a working title, which will be replaced by the lyric that best sums up the final work.
.) The progress of the album will require feedback from musicians, music fans and audiophiles, an act that will not go unrewarded.
