I'm a guitarist mostly playing around open jam nights, recording over backing tracks, and possibly forming some projects in the near future. I've been playing for approximately 13-14 years.
I'm into a wide variety of kinds of music, including jazz (from swing to bebop to the cool to free jazz), fusion, blues, some country, bluegrass, folk, funk, prog rock, classic rock, jam bands, classical, romantic, impressionist, raggae, latin and middle eastern music. Musical humor is also cool (I had a pretty big Frank Zappa kick as a teenager). I try to appriciate music for the general musicianship, composition, and expression that it involves, which can transcend genre, but of course I don't like everything equally.
I would describe my own playing as generally lending itself to some mix and spectrum of the rock (blues rock, classic rock, hard rock, prog rock, jam band) and jazz (bebop, post-bop, fusion) worlds, sometimes with some additional input from serouces such as blues, country, and classical (and romantic/late romantic). Explicit and concious country influence is relatively recent for me.
