About bocciaalex
Since the age of 4 Alex has been heavily involved in music. From Cello to Guitar, Bass to Piano; Alex has a been educated in a variety of instruments. It was at the age of 10 that Alex knew he would have nothing less than a career in music. After playing in various bands in middle school & high school, Alex formed his now current band Old Ironsides in 2005. Old Ironsides experienced many national & international successes and still is to this day including releasing their full length album "The Path Of Madness. During his time in Old Ironsides Alex studied guitar, music theory, music business, & composition privately under guitar virtuoso Tom Hess (guitarist of Hess & Rhapsody of Fire), studied music at Harper College, and studied with other virtuosic instructors such as Jody Fisher and David Jacobs-Strain ranging in styles from jazz to delta blues. Originally located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Alex relocated to Denver Colorado in August of 2012 as the bass player for the progressive hard rock band The Silent Still. In addition to composing music and playing in bands Alex is also a very successful guitar/music instructor teaching many clinics, and helping many students go from being complete beginners to advanced level players with some pursuing their own music career. He has combined his passion for teaching, and years of experience to open Rock Life Music Academy. In 2013 after playing with The Silent Still for a year Alex decided to part ways from the band to focus on his music academy, Old Ironsides, and his other solo projects and collaborations. He has many plans for his future in the music industry, and the future of the music industry.
