Been playing guitar for about 3 years now, and I'm pretty happy with my progress so far. Not quite reached virtuoso status yet, but give me 13 years...
The main thing anyone needs to know about me is that I love, live and breath Opeth. Easily my favourite cluster of musicians ever. I have seen them only once so far, and shall soon see them again.
I would really like a serious metal band (An Unholy Union of Opeth, Nevermore, In Flames and more Opeth) , but I don't consider myself good enough at soloing yet, and with gap year and Uni approaching, there's not much point at the moment. I'm going to Cardiff University, it seems, and gap-year wise, I have absolutely no idea. Besides the obvious musical hobbies, I enjoy the other arts, painting, poetry, philosophy, hats, and greatest of all, dancing (don't laugh, classical ballet ftw!)
Theory is both my greatest goal and obstacle at the moment, and I've branched out into other instruments to give myself a better perspective on the matter (Mandolin, a little piano, Flying V Ukulele etc...). I take theory lessons now though.
I constantly find myself wanting better gear (except my amp - it's awesome), and am currently well underway on my divine quest for economy picking. Metronome be my guide!
