College student and prospective guitar player. My brother once said, that Foreigner's, "Juke Box Hero," described my love for the guitar, but the truth is I have always been in love with guitar and music. However, in contrast to most of my favorite guitar players out there: I did not get an early start. Although, I first started being interested in guitar at the age of six. I did not explore these interests being raised in the middle of nowhere and because I was raised by hermits. I have never had lessons either. Starting with a high school student's mind is a set back. Learning it now has its drawbacks. I was influenced by my Father's musical interest in classic rock and roll: from Jimi Hendrix to Jethro Tull. After his passing I began to find my own interest in harder rock'n roll and metal groups. Ozzy Osbourne and through him Zakk Wylde. This was good, but my musical interest and ability was inflamed within the passed two years when I was re-intoduced into the Rock-Blues genre with The White Stripes' own guitar player, Jack White. White's simplicity and writing style only helped enkindle my love for the art. Also with the White Stripes I discovered: The Black Keys, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, and all of the groups associated with Chris Cornell. My brother also foolishly introduced, via YouTube, me to one of my new favorite guitarists, Richie Kotzen, whose style has further established my musical interest. I am not the guitarist I want to be today, but there is still tomorrow.
