Yes... I, in the not-too-distant future, will officially cross the threshhold from concert spectator to the faceless, nameless men all spectators end up hating--I will become a member of the concert security. I recently applied to an was accepted to the security staff at the 2008 Bonnaroo extravaganza. (www.bonnaroo.com) Even though I live in Virginia and I have to travel all the way to Manchester, Tennessee... I'd drive cross-country at this opportunity. Other than my obligations as a security guard (which I can't imagine will be all that demanding other than the twelve hours of work mandatory per day, because it's my first year and hopefully all the people there will be so high/drunk they will just want to have fun) which I'm sure I can handle, I'm basically getting paid to listen to music for four days in the middle of June... and I even get a free T-shirt, too! Hopefully, I haven't worked the days of June 12 - 15 up so much in my head that I end up psyching myself out or something like that. Either way, wish me luck all of you people that I'm sure probably don't know who I am! Go to Bonnaroo, too... not because I'm going to have a position of authority there, but because I've been going off and on for a few years now and I've never been let down.
