AVA_Plus44_182 wrote on Jul 12th, 2008 12:45amHey dude, if you're interested, I just finished a new song called "Not Enough"; it's on my profile page. I'd definitely be interested to hear what you think of it. I recorded it off guitar pro which is why it sounds pretty artificial, but personally I think it sounds pretty good considering that. quote |

Sounds good man, just out of interest (i only ask cause of ur name) but do u listen to all that blink 182 stuff? |
I used to be really into blink, +44, and angels and airwaves, but I'm not so much anymore. I mean, I still like listening to them, though blink not as much so, but they're not that high up my list of favourite bands now. It's like when you're really into something at one point, then after awhile you go off it and like something else more, but you still listen to the old stuff, partially because of nostalgia, and partially because you still sorta like it. SORTA.

I live on the north shore, and i dont have a car or licence. im just in the process of getting a loan for a new setup. hopfully im getting a $4500 loan and im gonna sort myself out with a new gat. what sort of music are u mostly into? |
Well, my favourite bands at the moment are probably Dream Theater, Tool, Muse, A Perfect Circle, shit like that. I like pretty much all forms of rock; metal, alternative, hard rock, punk (but punk not as much), but metal is probably my favourite of those, though I've never liked remaining exclusive to any particular genre.
I like progressive music quite a bit these days, and I'm getting really into Dream Theater aye. Experimental stuff is really cool too, plus I actually like electronic music quite a bit. And bits and pieces of jazz and whatnot are always fun to incorporate into playing wherever I can, just for a bit of variety, though I wouldn't consider myself a PROPER jazz, funk, etc musician.

Well, I haven't got anything to do tomorrow, so you wanna have a jam or something, see how things run? I realise it's a bit short notice but I don't have anything else to do at the moment to yea. Where in Auckland do you live?

Hey are u in a band? |
Not really. I occasionally jam with this dude who plays guitar, but I'm not in what you would call band, and I actually haven't been for ages now I think about it. Why do you ask?

bigtimber112 wrote on Mar 11th, 2008 5:22pmWhat? I was honestly trying to help; the black metal bands in that thread are great, and you should give them a listen.
sorry if you took that the wrong way; I found the rec thread helpful when I asked for band suggestions. I find that with such a genre of music as black metal, it's better to just look at them for yourself because other people may have completely different tastes within the genre. quote |
