Let's set the stage: So today I went birthday shopping and stopped by F.Y.E. That's got to be one of my favorite places to go since its got so much music and a ton of DVDs... but anyway... I was searching through the music section and, alas, there were actual No Doubt albums in stock! And, even though I own pretty much every album of theirs, there was this Rock Steady Live album that I saw. So, I had to have it. Later, I realized I was even luckier because this was not a regular album but a DVD!
Now the important part. I watched the concert on the way home and realized a ton of stuff. The big thing was that when I watched Tom Dumont in each song, I realized that he had some awesome riffs going on that you really can't even hear. Now granted I watched the DVD on a cheap car DVD player, but these guitar lines of his looked awesome! So, trying to finally reach the gist of my blog, this video really revitalized my interest in his guitar parts and I'm looking forward to getting into some deeper aspects of my No Doubt tabs.
I've been really inactive lately with the start of school, but hopefully I'll have some new tabs out sometime in the near future. As in late tonight. (My high school homecoming plans fell through!)
So! Despite no one viewing my profile... well ever... here's my first blog. My 'Profile Completeness' bar told me to so, whatever. I am a huge fan of the band No Doubt. After watching their podcasts over and over again in anticipation of the new album, I decided I'd learn a few new songs of theirs that I previously didn't know. Now if you know No Doubt at all, you know they have absolutely no one fitting genre label. They'll have a rock song here, a manicured pop song there, some ska over here, etc. So even though they have a very talented guitarist, Tom Dumont, he doesn't always have a great guitar part in each song. Now, getting a little closer to the actual subject, basically UG has jack squat for good No Doubt tabs. Its got the essentials (Don't Speak and some crappy versions of New) but the really good guitar songs don't even have a single tab! So, I have taken on the challenge of tabbing out some of No Doubt's greatest hits. As of now I've submitted Staring Problem (which of course nobody even bothered to approve of or even disapprove! And yes, I realize I need to wait alot longer then the 12+ hours I have been.) But I have a few more on the way, that I have tabbed out on paper but they need to be typed and submitted. So, if anyone happens to stumble upon this blog and wants to help me out, I guess just approve of my tab or whatever you can do! I'm new to writing tabs, so this blog's terminology probably sucks, but I must say, my tabs are pretty good!
