Aghhhhh! Scince the Fireman was announced at a mind destroying $10,000 per guitar my mind has gone into melt down. Not just because the only way I'll have one involves winning the lottery or robbing a bank, but because the money I have saved now needs to go towards some gear. Yes NEEDS to go to some gear.
Why you ask? Simple I had my mind set on getting a new guitar namely the Fireman. This is now not a viable option, but now I crave something new in my rig.
This has lead me to so many options it's hard to decide.
1) A new amp: I my musical taste has changed scince I got my last amp. I haven't played it in a while and it's in at the shop being fixed. But I remember not being overly impressed with the tone I was trying to coax out of it. Hell that could change when I get it back.
I want a Foo Fighters/Muse/Paul Gilbert/Racer X tone. Varying much?
Current thoughts include: Marshall DSL401 combo, Marshall Vintage Modern Combo, Mesa Mark IV, Mesa Rect-o-verb, and I have heard rumours of a Randall Nuno Bettencourt signature amp in the works which interests me, although it will probably be outta my price range.
2) A new guitar. Nothing gets you more inspired than a new weapon of choice. I love my Gibson SG. But there are other guitars I love too, and it makes sense to have a decent guitar for home and one for school.
3) Effects and cables. Or *gasp* a wireless system. I hate getting tangled up. I doubt I could be bothered with a wireless system tho. A Fulltone OCD V3, MXR Phase 90, Coreone Bullet Coil cable, Korg Pitchblack would all be nice too.
Then there's combinations of those 3. See why I'm slowly going mad!?
Yeah, I haven't been to many gigs and things yet so this list isn't very expansive yet, but the gigs I've been to have been epic and I'm gonna start going to more when school is less of an issue. I have school on saterday and live in the middle of nowhere in Somerset. Not great gig opportunities! EDIT: Now go to college in London.
