Favorite bands :
The first band I ever liked was Led Zeppelin, and I was about 10 or 11 years of age. Led Zeppelin brought me into a bunch of classic rock and for a few years, all I liked was classic rock.
Led Zeppelin is still my favorite band, though I very rarely listen to them. It's kind of just engraved within me, and I'll admit that I have no interest in listening to things like Black Dog or Kashmir. My favorite Led Zeppelin piece is "The Rain Song". Other songs like "That's the Way", "No Quarter", "Going to California", and "When the Levee Breaks", mean so much to me. I won't continue to ramble on about Zeppelin though
The only band I actually listen to right now, is Radiohead. Yes the ONLY band. Needless to say, they are my favorite in the sense that I've listened to them for over a year now constantly, and I still haven't grown tired of them. They are such an interesting band, with even more interesting songs. Amongst my favorites from them would be:
How to Disappear Completely
Fake Plastic Trees
House of Cards
Motion Picture Soundtrack
and a bunch of stuff from OK Computer
Favorite guitarists :
Well Jimmy Page was my Jesus for a few years pretty much. I talked about him way too much.
Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead. Watch him live, you'll see why. Also he seems like a smart guy. He's composed music for a few movies and unlike many other guitarists, he doesn't have that front-and-center attitude.
Teppei Teranishi from Thrice. He's a very "clean" guitarist. He handles his tone very nicely. I especially like his playing on the Vheissu album
Favorite bassists :
John Paul Jones. Cool Guy
Favorite books :
The Inheritance Cycle
The Harry Potter Series
I'd like to take a look at Eoin Colfer's work
Favorite tv :
Foreign cartoons. That's all I'm saying
Other than that, I don't watch TV
Favorite movies :
Always look on the brrriiiggghhhhh side of life. *whistle* *whistle* *whistle* *whistle*
Hello! I'm Austin from New Jersey. Normally I wouldn't give out my name, but I think you could have figured it out yourself by looking at my username. This is an old UG profile of mine that I just revived.
Anyway, I started using UG a few years ago when I began to play guitar. Nothing beats a database full of tabs, and that was great for me as I learned to play, and I still use this site for tabs every week. Recently however, I've found the MP3 feature, in conjunction with the forums is a great way to share and get your music out there. Not that I have any music, but I plan to. I just havn't fealt like recording anything lately because I've been busy learning music theory. So soon I hope to use what I learned for some original songs and whatnot.
I'm always happy to hear other people's work, so if you want to share something, I'd love to hear it. Also really interested in audio recording and production, but I'm only a novice and I have so much to learn. So it would be really awesome if people would share some recording ideas and/or techniques with me. I'm also happy to help anyone who has any questions on the matter myself, though I can't guarantee that I'll know any more than you.
