ANU GUNN - guitar, vocals - Anu was born on the East Coast, grew up in Texas, moved around a lot due to both his parents being in the USAF, but calls Austin, TX his hometown. When he saw 'Detroit Rock City' by KISS for the first time, he knew he wanted to be a rockstar. Acrobatic-playing guitarists such as Steve Vai, George Lynch and Tony MacAlpline heavily influenced his style.
He went to Musician's Institute, graduated and eventually was twice featured on their front page as a success story. He has also appeared as a guitarist on Vh1 Classic Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp which "shattered viewing records" according to the New York Post, 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' as well as The Style Network.
Anu has played guitar for Oscar & Grammy winning composer of Slumdog Millionaire, A.R. Rahman, during the composing of the movie People Like Us, directed by Alex Kurtzman (screenwriter, Star Trek).
After being on RRFC season one, he later joined season two band, Ex Hang Ups. They went on to record a single with drummer Virgil Donati (Steve Vai) and recorded with Skip Saylor and had it mastered by Bernie Grundman. Anu directed a music video for the song "My Addiction" and it became #1 on the rock charts at cdbaby for over 10 weeks.
Anu is currently with Proton Saints and working on his solo project - in the studio again with Skip Saylor for his debut single as "singer/songwriter/shredder" with help from Grammy-nominated pianist John Beasley (Miles Davis, American Idol), drummer Matt Starr (Ace Frehley, Bang Tango, Beautiful Creatures), backing vocalist Shweta Pandit (A.R. Rahman tour, Bollywood singer). This is set to release in early 2013. He proudly uses Buddy Blaze Guitars.
