The hassle of restringing a guitar

Current mood: cheerful

The strings on my Reno acoustic had not been replaced for a couple of years, and a couple of days ago, I decided to change that since the D-string decided to bail on me. With the guitar case over my shoulder, I paid a visit to the local music-store. Felt that I would rather pay a couple of extra bucks to get it properly done, rather than to fuck it up myself - but I kind'a changed my mind when he told me that it would take almost three weeks. Instead, I brought forth my wallet and walked home with a pack of D'Addario Classic Nylon in my pocket and my guitar case over my shoulder.

It took me almost three hours to remove the old strings, attach the new and tune the thing to perfection, not the mention how I managed to extend my library of bad words. As for a first time, I am quite happy that I managed to do it without destroying the guitar or any of the new strings. Hopefully, next time will go a lot smoother, and hopefully, I won't have to do it for another year or two...
