-melodic chorus ala As I lay Dying etc.
-a rather deathcore flavored verse ala Black Daliah Murder etc.
-slightly "tech" with odd-time breakdowns ala August Burns Red. etc.
-Direct Input recording, rough first take draft, no mix/effects besides basic eq-ing. Drums+Bass sampled.
The song is just a fun jam, no serious composition effort. Comments always welcome, though I will probably not work on this any further. { Tags : Metalcore, Metal, Hardcore, Deathcore }
Cover of "Mach die Augen zu", by famous german rock/pop/punk Band "Die Ärzte".
Originally a rather straight "standart" acoustic ballad, I tried to put it in the direction of artists like Godspeed You Black Emperor, Jesu, and similar post-something acts.
That means repetetive electronic beats, a wash of distorted guitars, and Synths that can also evoke memories of Burzums "Det som en gang var".
The lo-fi sound is quite intentional.
Cover of a GP song that UG user "nbgreat" posted in the Tab forum. I really liked the song, wanted to practice and record something again, so here it goes.
I'm a poor homerecorder, so here's the setup:
Drums and Bass from computer, as is the synth
Guitars -> Boss GT8 -> Computer Line-Input
One of my favorite bands is Death, so I recorded some covers of their songs.
Not much to say about this here. No vocals (I like my neighbors too much), and it feels slightly slower than the original (I guess it was more important for me to do a slower but cleaner version than a take that's technically up to speed but out of whack). I also took some creative liberties with the solos to make it easier for me (such as not playing the second solo altogether, lol) { Tags : Death, deathmetal, metal, chuck, schuldiner }
