Nah, i didn't have anything prewritten. They called me up that morning and asked me to come fill in. SO i had no time to prepare. When i make my 'official debut' I'll make sure that i have some kind of script so that I'm not under so much pressure. I need to pick a feature artist for that first show too.. not sure who it should be.

That kinda sucxks that they put you completely on the spot for your first show. Everytime I do something for the first time, I always have this ideal notion of how it will be awesome, don't know if it's the same as you, but that would be a real bummer for me.

Good luck for your "official debut", hope it all goes swimmingly for you :) and, for a feature artist, you should do someone who is a local act and releasing new material, someone like Cog or Dead Letter Circus. Just a suggestion.

Hehe that's an awesome setlist. Highlights for me would be:
John Butler Trio
Ash Grunwald
Cog
Porcupine Tree :headbang:
John Petrucci
Liquid Tension Experiment
Megadeth
Necrophagist (I love the solo as well, so melodic and neo-classical)
Death
Cynic
Mercyful Fate

:headbang: A great setlist, makes me want to throw my radio in the bin because down here, we'd never get a list that good.

In terms of the talking and addressing, you probably did better than you thought you did, I can see how it would be intimidating the first time but I'm sure you did great. Have you got a playback or recording of the show?

It would have been hilarious if you swore in one of the breaks in the song e.g. dun dun dun *pause* fuck this *pause* dun dun dun etc. Did you have any scripted or pre-written stuff?

Hey man,
I'm good, how you doing??
Whats with the name blood chair?? it kinda freaks me out.. is it like a chair made out of blood, or a chair covered in blood??
Im great.
And the name? Well in World Of Warcraft my brother has a character called 'Deadchair', and there's another guy called 'Angrychair', so I called myself bloodchair.
And I've never thought of the name that literally before honestly... I try not to picture it. BUt i reassure you im just your regular 15 y/o guy. Not that extreme of a person either. Im not the kid that you find, long black hair waving back & forth listening to slipknot wishing upon other peoples death.
Tho i do resent i lot of people at my school im actually the opposite described. i've got medium length blonde hair, im quiet calm, blue eyes and am a shy outcast (note: when i say outcast i don't mean im retarded or anything, i look fine)
Ahh accounting, it's not that boring.. Looks like a lot of work.. My dad is doing his first year of accounting at tafe this year .. lol. sounds like you've got everything planned out lol.
I don't have a radio station per say. I now have my own show every second saturday It's called alternate picking heheh I play a lot of guitar music

Yeah, why the hell did I call it a radio station? DUH, I'm a complete goose.

Anyway, nice playlist for that first show. I don't know any other shows that play the John Butler Trio as well as Necrophagist, but it's good to see. I, for one, am a fan of both of those bands.

The name "alternate picking" fits that fact I mentioned above well lol. Was that intentional?

i got to present my first show on the radio today all by myself.. lol

Not much is happening with me, awaiting the start of band practice.

Awesome, how do it go? Omit no detail, however small.

I only wish I could have listened :(

Just at TAFE doing my second year of an advanced diploma of accounting....not very exciting, but it's not as boring as a lot of people would think either. Hoping to get into a uni course next year if my marks are good enough.
I've been trying to get a band together as well, but it has been difficult. The ultimate plan is to balance some paid gigging and accounting work y'know, I'd be happy with that.

How about you? Apparently you have a radio station...I'd love to tune in sometime :D

Yeah, I'm totally syked to see Cog.. I'm goint to see them at the beach hotel in byron though, its a lot closer to my house than Sydney and yes there live shows are really amazing. Every song was as perfect as it was on the album..The new album is good. But i still think i prefer 'the new normal'. Sharing space is very chordy and not very riffy. it's still great though.. and you live near the gowers :O I'm jealous

Byron aye? I went to schoolies there in 2006. Best week of my life... I'm not sure if it was the best week the locals have had though, rofl. I wouldn't imagine you guys would be too happy with a bunch of drunken school leavers littering and destroying the peaceful and laid back atmosphere of the place.

And don't be jealous about me living near Cog. The two times I've managed to talk to them I've been a stuttering, nervous wreck, so I usually

Hey, thanks for saying I have a good taste in music. I have to say, your taste in music is very good as well (especially considering you are a 17 year old girl).

And yes, Cog is great. I have yet to hear the (full) new album, but if it is anything like The New Normal or even the recent singles, I will be very happy.
Cog is probably my favourite Aussie band. A lot of their riffs are very innovative, and that's what I look for in good music, as opposed to a re-hashing of something that's already been done e.g. Jet, Wolfmother.
They also have a FANTASTIC live show. Last year I inadvertently caught them at a "secret gig" at the Beach Road Hotel around the corner from my house when I was familiar with only some of their material and they blew me away. Needless to say, I will not be missing their upcoming Sydney show....will you?

P.S. The Gower brothers live across the road from me. I try to not tell everyone I know that, but it's difficult.
