Well I'm a 30 something guitar player who switched to bass to join a band, and I've been switching back and forth ever since. I even learned the play the banjo for a while. Now I'm married with kids and don't have as much music time as I used to.
I was a child of the 90's and cut my teeth on the grunge music of the day, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins etc. This is really when i got serious about playing the guitar. I later fell in love with acoustic guitar and some cotemporary bands such as Dave Matthews and caught the jam band bug.
I played in several bands in the Midwest on the bass and concentrated on original music. I played anything from Grunge, to alternative and acoustic rock.
I spent some time living on the road, divulging in the dead head lifestyle. I had visited a gathering for a few weeks in New Mexico and hit the last dead show in Chicago.
I no longer play in bands. I've settled down, and only play to the four wall of my bedroom. I've fallen in love with recording and composing songs, backing tracks. It really seems that I never have enough money or time to really fulfill this new hobby.
