Jefferson Airplane was formed in San Francisco in the mid 1960's. Marty Balin was the founder of the band. Grace Slick had quit her old band to join The Airplane when jack cassady and paul kanter asked her. They were the leaders of psychedelic rock. Jorma Kaukoen, Jack Cassady, Paul Kanter, Grace Slick, Marty Balin, And Spencer Dryden got a record deal very early in their carrer. Their 1976 LP "Surrealistic Pillow" is one of the most important recordings in the "Summer of Love". In 1996 they were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame where Jorma kaukoen played "embryonic Journey".
