Sience summer is right around the corner and the weather outside is no longer frightfull, I will be no longer be messing around in UG for hours on end like I used to. I will just try to get updates every once and a while up in the blogs. I might not though. I will also try to stay active in my groups and bands. My contributions will still go on in every section exept for the tabing section. That is why there hasn't been anything about my contributions lately. But if you are going to tell me something important, PM me instead of dropping a comment. I will see it fo sho dawg. But yeah. So if I'm not on a lot, I'm either out riding bike or playing kill the carrier or somehting like that... or wiffle ball. I also am going to be involved in many other sports and activities this summer to train for cross country. Thanks for taking the time to read this everybdy out there! Make sure to stay tuned and keep in touch! Bye!
I am just posting this blog to sho my friend what a blog is. A b log is an update ore something like that. sorry about the mistakes nobody really cares on the internet. he is pointing out all of my grammer and spelling and all of that junk out to me even though i already know whta that is.
I am currently stopping the progress of the "History Of" series. But, I am going to start on a new series "Last Band Standing." Series. I will also continue the progress of the "Storm." series.
I got back around 4:00 today from a band/orchestra contest in a place out of town. I had a lot of fun. We got to wander around every/any where we wanted to.
Yeah, yeah I know what you were thinking when you read the title. But this is nothing like the one that you can see in the forums. This discusses more specific topics like word choice and making your writing more interesting. NOTE: This is not for fiction columns.
Here is a NEW! basic outline of how you should write your columns.
INTRODUCTION - WOW! The reader Paragraph I - Make sure to summerize what the column is about.
BODY 1. Paragraph I - Summerize the paragraph. 2. Paragraph II - Include details. 3. Paragraph III - Include details. 4. Paragraph VI - Start to close it.
CONCLUSION - WOW! Th reader. Paragraph I - Close the column. Make sure that the Introduction and the Conclusion are pretty similar.
As you can see, columns are a little harder to get accepted then you think. But here are more hints and tips to mak your job a little bit easier.
- Use figurative language.
Figurative language is suff like this:
Idioms - Something that states one thing, but says another.
Similies - Comparison using like or as.
Medephores - Comparison NOT using like or as.
Alliteration - Same letter sound 3+ times in a row. (crushing cool carrots)
Onamonapias - A word that sounds like the thing that it's doing. (Bzzzzzz or WeeeWooooWeeeeWoooo)
- Pay attention in READING and LANGUAGE classes.
This way you will get some new ideas or tips on writing.
- READ a LOT!!
If you read more, you will see more things that might spark your ideas for a new column. Whe you have a writer's block, read more!
- Use the 6 traits + 1
The six traits plus one is this:
Ideas: The ideas are the heart of the message, the content of the piece, the main theme, together with the details that enrich and develop that theme.
Organization: Organization is the internal structure of a piece of writing, the thread of central meaning, the logical and sometimes intriguing pattern of the ideas. Voice: The voice is the heart and soul, the magic, the will, along with the feeling and conviction of the individual writer coming out through the words. Word Choice: Word choice is the use of rich, colorful, precise language that moves and enlightens the reader. Fluency: Sentence fluency is the rhythm and flow of the language, the sound of work patterns, the way in which the writing plays to the ear - not just to the eye. Convention: Conventions are the mechanical correctness of the piece - spelling, grammar and usage, paragraphing, use of capitals, and punctuation.
+1 Presentation: Presentation zeros in on the form and layout of the text and its readability: the piece should be pleasing to the eye.
Well, that's all I have right now. I will try to get some more tips, hints and other good stuff up soon! Hope you learned something!
I hope that everybody likes them. But unfortuanlay (or however you spell it) I forgot to pot the Storm. part I into the fiction section. Oh well. thanks!
I have currently asked zappp if I could be on the UG Team. Though he has not read my message yet, I hope that he thinks the same as I do about this. Here is the message:
0GibsonLesPaul0 wrote on Apr 13th, 2009 at 7:15am : Could I please be on the UG Team? If you would like a reason it's because when you write an article it says "If you want to become a regular contributor go here..." and I checked and there wasn't any spots left open that I could do.
Anyway, I was wondering If I could become a Member because I have a bunch of new articles and tabs lined up and I already have contributed a bunch to UG, so could I? Please? Thanks!
- 0GibsonLesPaul0 P.S. If I dont' get accepted, would I still have a chance to try again some other time in the future?
