Do you hear how that amp sounds very digital?
If I was to plug my headphones into my $75 multi-effects pedal, or just plug the pedal into some speakers, I could get the exact same tones as that Line 6 Spider III gives.
Look on youtube for any tube/valve amp reviews, and you will hear a tremendous difference between it and the line 6.
Now, not all solid state amps are bad, but I do prefer the sound of tubes.
If you just absolutely love the spider III, I would still not recommend buying it. Get a Peavey Valveking, or some other equal priced tube amp and buy a Digitech RP series multi-effects pedal also. You will be spending about the same amount of money as the spider costs, get some good effects, and then have a nice sounding tube amp to play through when you get tired of digital sounding effects. quote |
