There have suddenly been a rush of coincidences in my life. Minor ones, but I still think it's a bit odd.
I'll just say a few:
1. Sweet Home Alabama...
I recently discovered Lynyrd Skynyrd, thanks to Aig91, and one of my favorite songs is Sweet Home Alabama. So, I set out to learn it and started playing it from a tab on UG, and a solo tab Aig91 kindly did. The next day, a friend at school comes up to me and says: "Hey! Do you know a band called Lynyrd Skynyrd?" I say yes, and he says "Cool, you heard Sweet Home Alabama?"
Ok, a bit wierd, but not too much.
Later on, a friend in France that I hadn't spoken to for ages phoned and it just happened that I could hear Sweet Home Alabama playing in the background. He had just got a rock song compilation with it on it.
That makes matters a bit stranger.
But today, just to make it a triple coincidence, we watch a film set in Alabama, with, lo and behold, Sweet Home Alabama as part of the soundtrack, in English class as media studies at school.
2. This one isn't much of a coincidence, but it still counts!
I had just discovered Pink Floyd properly, and my fav album is The Wall, and one of my fav songs: Another Brick In The Wall (all parts!).
And, just a couple of days after this magnificent discovery, at school again but in science this time, we watch a video about environmentally friendly school-kids putting bricks in toilets (the bit with the water you flush in it) and freezers (don't ask me what that does) and other places.
Guess what the sound track was... Yes! Another Brick In The Wall off The Wall, by Pink Floyd! (We don't need no education..... it's just a nother brick in the wall) Yeah... Pretty wierd.
3. Tom Brown's school days (by Thomas Hughes)...
Me and my mum were at a library in London (where I live), and we were asking who this was by at the enquiry desk and we wanted to get it out on tape (for my cousins we were going to see in scotland). Funnily enough, it turned out that it was by Thomas Hughes which was the exact name of the man at the desk to whom we were asking this, and that Tom Brown's school days on tape had just been returned to the library, and he had it in front of him right then.
Thats it. Strange storys. Have you ever experienced something like this?
That is so weird. I was at a Jewel Osco store the other day picking up a few things with my dad (he doesn't like going to the store alone) and the second I walked inside Sweet Home Alabama started playing. And this is like the 3rd time that's happened in that store. It's like they can tell when I'm coming in so they play that song
