VampireGoldfish wrote on Nov 23rd, 2009 11:46pmHonestly I'm the last person you want to be asking about 2009 updates. Work has me so incredibly busy, and chances are when you see me posting, I'm posting from a dig site on my phone while I'm on lunch.
Anyways, last 2009 album I bought and thoroughly enjoyed was Tribulation - The Horror. Repugnant's brother is my fond name for them.
I really want to start making threads again, so I'm going to dig through my collection and some old favorites and see what I can do. quote |

Prepare to shit your pants butttttt, I've actually never even heard Of Empires Forlorn or their first album, save a couple songs! I've never been able to find a physical copy of OEF and I've been checking for like the past year and I kinda refuse to download stuff ;( . I'm definitely buying that new one when I make my next round of orders though. It's getting huge amounts of praise so far too.

Heh, Hellride? I haven't listened to the demo, I probably should considering how much I love the full length. |
You know it. And you definately should, if not only for the 8 minute guitar jammery section on Behind the Brown Door. Magnificient. Hah, my dad loves that song as well!

Oh I see what you did there Penis.
It is indeed a great album, on my list for one of the best of '08. Monumental. Have you checked out the member's earlier band (that's now active), Blood Farmers? Some of the best Sabbath/Vitus worship I've heard. Totally bass heavy old school doom with the most badass vocals ever! |
I have known of the mighty Blood Farmers for a while actually and I own the Permanent Brain Damage demo which is great stuff. I still need to get the full length badly though. And the forum where I discovered them everybody was bumming the PBD demo as being their best work so I went w/ that one first. How do the two compare in your opinion?

VampireGoldfish wrote on Oct 23rd, 2009 1:28amLoving your mixtape by the way. Blood Farmers fall under the category me and a good friend fondly refer to as Acid Doom. quote |
VampireGoldfish wrote on Oct 23rd, 2009 1:25amAnd MHDrunks join date says 2008, yet we all know that's false.
Get my point?
Buy an external hard drive.
Back up everything.
Profit.
You're plight touched me though, and reminds me of the time when I lost my collection of Darkthrone vinyls way back when.
I think I'll make a Power/Speed related thread in your honor sometime soon. quote |

So what is my little buddy listening too? quote |

ha!
You're never to old for the internet. I've been posting on SE++ (http://forums.penny-arcade.com/forumdisplay.php?f =12) for years now and have made long lasting personal friends on it.
Ages 18 up. Hell, Druihm is 44.
I'll still be here to respond to people and maybe every now and then make a thread. But the Metal forums golden years were over a long time ago.
I'm glad to see some proud pounding Hammerheart's lurking and occasionally posting once in a blue moon though. quote |

It sucks sooo much that they broke up. I'd make the thread but my threads don't get too much traffic. They get maybe 8 responses then die out for 6 months until I revive them to get 2 more posts. Not really worth it. |
I know but mine only get 6 responses then die out for 8 months until I revive them to get just 1 more post. But ya Plague of the Planet is soo good and I just got Seven Hells which is completely blowing me away. Soldier of Misfortune is such a great song, as is the entire album.

I remember reading about them brielfy in a report in terrorizer, glad I got round to checking them out.

I've only read A Game of Thrones, I thought it was awesome, but I'm yet to find Clash Of Kings anywhere >.<
And the thing with Wheel Of Time... I'm a couple of hundered pages into the first one (Eye of the World) and haven't been able to get back into it. quote |
